The new Mode, Rivals of Shiao, will be available on every platform, which supports an internet browser. That means, that you can engage into battle wherever and whenever you want!

To become the worlds best, you should have a really strong collection of several companions.
We made a list for you, to check which companions are the most capable ones.

Every companion inherits its own elemental affinity, which may turn the tides of battle in your favour. Use your own tactics to conquer the battlefields!
Some of them are stronger than the others, and will refuse to fight until you prove your value conquering the Medals!
Every companions elemental affinity is chosen at random by the time you get it. The elemental affinity effects the attacks, which can be learned, their respective strengths and their respective weaknesses.
The Battles
The battles will be fought in a 1 v 1 format. Every participant may bring up to three companions into the battle. The battle is over by the time one participant is out of companions. During each round, you can decide an action out of this three: You may attack your opponents companion, you may use an item or you may exchange your companion in battle.
In Rivals of Shiao there will be 2 different Gamemodes. One PvP Mode and two PvE-Modes.
(Pve) Training
Gather experience points to strengthen your companions.
(PvM) League
Battle against several procedurally generated foes and earn Emeralds. More advanced leagues will require a medal to participate. You can't bring pets of a more advanced league in a lower one.
(PvP) Friend battle
Battle with friends in this fun PvP-Mode, to find out who is the strongest.
The game won't be saved: at the end you'll get the used items back and your Pets won't lose any health.
The elemental affinities
In the world of Shiao there are 6 Elements.
- Normal
- Ground
- Electric
- Water
- Fire
- Ice
Every companion got an elemental affinity, the element normal is excepted. The Attacks you can learn, the weaknesses and the strenght of your companion will be determined by the elemental affinity. The attacks which can be learned by your companion got element affinity as well. Build a great tactic around the elemental affinities.
Weakness-Diagram
If your companions use attacks from their own elemental affinity, the attacks will be stronger by 50%. If your companions use attacks of a element which is strong against another element (f.e. Water against Fire), the damage will be doubled. If your companions use attacks of a element which is weak against another element (f.e. Fire against Water), the damage will be halved. Normal Attacks dont have any dynamic buffs.
The Moves
The moves not only have an elemental affinity, they can be differentiated in attacks and moves, which change the status of companions.
Companions will be able to learn attacks from their respective element, two attacks from another elememt and one attack from the normal element. (f.e. a fire companion can learn ground attacks.)
Attacks are strong moves, which are affected by strength, accuracy and can apply random status effects.
Strength is a indicator for the damage a attack will deal.
(An attack with strength 100 wont deal 100 damage, but is way more powerfull as an attack with 50 strength.)
Accuracy shows the possibility of hitting the target with this attack.
Accuracy 100 means, that you will hit the target 100% of the times. If you are affected by a status condition, which lowers
your accurace you may loose attacks which have a 100% accuracy indicator.
Some attacks may inflict status conditions on your own companion or the enemy companion.For example Fix-Damage or First-hit.
Moves which change status effects are moves, that change status conditions of your own companion
or an enemy companion for some time.
Use them to gain control of your battles.
These moves are also affected by the accuracy.
All moves may only be used a certain amount of times until there are nor move points left. If your companion got not moves left, it will start struggeling and damage itself and the enemy comapnion.
Experience
Every companion can gather experience points and level up to a maximum level of 100.
The higher the level of your companion, the higher its stats and power.
By gathering experience points your companion will tire out over time.
By the time a companion is tired, it needs to rest to regain its stamina.
If a companion got its stamina refilled it will be able to gain experience points again.
Your companion will always battle for you, even if it is tired.
Stamina of your companions will refill itself completely over night. If you cannot wait till the next day, you may get items (Stims) or beds in your Dojo. (Achieveable ingame)
Stats
Every companion got for major stats, which determine the role in combat. Health, Attack, Defense and Speed. Every companion got different base values of those stats, so every companion is used in a different way. Some will deal huge damage and others will take big attacks like its nothing.
The stats of a companion grows by the time it levels up. The stats are affected from the genes of the companion and the training they undergo.
The genes of a companion affect the growth of the stats. The effect of the genes can be described on a scale of 1 to 100. (100 Big effect, 0 no effect)
In the dojo you will be able to train your companions.
Different excercises allow you to let your companions grow in different ways.
By exercising your pets you will be able to temporarily boost their stats by training them on
the desired stat. Exercise points will reset to 0.
The Dojo
The Dojo is an ingame purchaseable Instance where your companions can relax or train.
By the initial purchase of the Dojo you get one bed for free, where your companions can regain endurance points.
By playing the game you will be able to get better beds and other expansions to further upgrade your Dojo.
These are the Expansions to get:
Beds
A total of 3 bed can be purchased. In those beds your companions can relax and regain their endurance.
Healing station
May be used to restore the health of your companions.
Trainingsdummy
Used to improve the strength of your companions.
Bicycle
Used to improve the speed of your companions.
Headhunter
You may hire him to improve the defence of your companions.
Ariyoung
You may recruit her to improve the health of your companions.

Rivals of Shiao is still in beta. We expect to facing issues, which can lead to some problems.
We will ensure to kill all occuring bugs, while we improve the gameplay and balance out the quality of the game experience.
